Surveying Design Supervision
Stage One is offering 32 lots varying in size from 8,000 square metres to 2.9253 hectares.
The varying contour means many of the sections are elevated with the majority receiving a view either of the Kerikeri Inlet, the bushclad hillside to the north, to the eastern side of the Rangitane River or south towards the Waitangi Forest and rural farmland. Generous section sizes will allow relative seclusion once the sections have been developed and landscaped.
Cook Costello have designed and supervised this 32 lot Rural Residential Subdivision. This involved designing the roads including the roundabout, bulk earthworks, low impact stormwater system and attenuation ponds. We also under took the surveying of the engineering setout, construction monitoring and the land transfer dataset for LINZ approval. Our Registered Surveyor was also the engineer to the contract and responsible for obtaining the RMA certifications from Council.
Design and Build

Design and Build Holiday Home
Our client wanted a multigenerational family beach house to replace their much loved kiwi bach retreat on a narrow (12m) sloping site with many challenging design considerations. The ocean views were captured successfully from many spaces in the house as well as the beautifully detailed louvertec covered deck. Additional generous outdoor spaces have been created, sheltered from sun and wind enabling family and friends space to enjoy this beautiful mainland reserve. This house is constructed with honed masonry block, crafted with Cedar cladding, Jarrah decking and timber finishes executed to a high standard. The Polished concrete slab on grade and uni span floors with a long run mono pitch roof keep a simple palate but all required a high standard of delivery.

Detailed Seismic Assessment
Cook Costello was engaged to carry out a Detailed Engineering Evaluation on Lufthansa House a 16-storey highrise built during the 1980's in Central Auckland.
Cook Costello can assist you every step of the way – from an Initial Evaluation Procedure (IEP) of an existing building and a Detailed Seismic Assessment (DSA) to a full retrofit design solution, building consent documentation and project management services.
Commercial and Retail
Tikipunga is one of Whangarei's fastest growing areas with subdivision developments, roading additions and now a new five shops extension to the busy Paramount Plaza shopping centre, adjacent to the existing supermarket, petrol station, liquor store, food and retail.
Cook Costello undertook the civil design of the carpark with its’ low impact stormwater collection system, and the structural design of the steel portal framed building.
Warehouse Concept Design
Cook Costello's brief was to design a 900m² warehouse and a 300² office block. The warehouse needed to enable truck and trailed access to two loading bays, one each side of the building. The office block needed to be visually appealing and be a comfortable environment to work in. We detailed adjustable louvers to the external face of the office block to provide shading and to create a ascetically appealing facade.
A beautifully presented lifestyle village for the over 60s comprised of 260 villas, apartment blocks and community facilities.
Cook Costello undertook the civil engineering for the bulk earthworks and civil infrastructure, earthworks consents and erosion and sediment control plans, construction set-out and supervision, village layout design and RMA variations to consent conditions.
Cook Costello was engaged to do the Foundation and Structural Design for this 3 unit apartment block. This is one of many TC3 foundation designs we have completed in Canterbury post the devastiang 2010 and 2011 earthquakes.
The About Time Project
The Ball Clock is a kinetic sculpture of great interest and is being created to entertain and attract visitors and locals to the Whangarei Town Basin and the world renowed Clapham Clock Museum.
Cook Costello is pleased to be working on a 3D model of the clock to assist with raising funds for the project.
